Project Description
The project involves the detailed design and construction of the doubling of the Rome-Pescara railway line between Interporto d’Abruzzo and Scafa, over a total length of 13 km. The works are divided into two functional lots: Lot 1 (Interporto d’Abruzzo-Manoppello) and Lot 2 (Manoppello-Scafa).
The new alignment runs partly alongside the existing line and partly on a new deviation, increasing capacity and improving operational reliability along a strategic corridor for regional passenger and freight traffic.
The works include civil and railway systems installations aimed at upgrading the infrastructure and surrounding areas, including embankments, hydraulic works, underpasses, road adjustments, railway systems and environmental mitigation measures.
Scope of Work
Salcef is responsible for track works and railway systems installations, in coordination with the overall project schedule.
Main activities include:
- Construction of railway equipment buildings and associated service areas
- Execution of track works, including double-track construction and connections to existing stations
- Construction of a new traction power cabin and traction power substations
- Installation of overhead contact line systems
- Installation of lighting and power supply systems
- Installation of railway signalling systems
