The project concerns the doubling of the Piadena-Mantova section along the Codogno-Cremona-Mantova corridor, over a total length of approximately 30 km, between km 55+286 and km 89+557.

This upgrade aims to increase line capacity and improve operational reliability along a strategic corridor for regional passenger and freight traffic, through double-track construction, route electrification and systems modernization.

The works also include construction of the new Curtatone traction power substation, upgrading of the Mantova traction power substation and renewal of signalling and power supply systems.
