Sustainability Report 2020
Salcef’s First Sustainability Report

The 2020 Sustainability Report demonstrates the Salcef Group’s commitment to enhancing its environmental and social performance.
Prepared according to Legislative Decree 254/2016 and international GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) Standard guidelines, the Sustainability Report details the Corporate Social Responsibility actions undertaken by the company to integrate ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria to create value for its stakeholders, people, communities and the territory, while respecting the environment.
This document contains a detailed description of the Salcef Group’s concrete commitment to sustainability, in line with the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) that are an integral part of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
For 70 years the Group has been committed to creating a business model focused on continuously innovating sustainable mobility infrastructures. It signed the United Nations Global Compact in October 2020 and has indicated its main sustainability targets. These include innovating transport infrastructures, pursuing climate transition and creating sustainable cities and communities. This places the Group in the broader international scenario of political strategies adopted at a government level (such as the EU Green Deal and EU Next Generation).
The report also details social strategies on personnel, human rights and the fight against corruption. It promotes an understanding of the Group’s activities, its performance, results and impact.
“We are delighted to present the first edition of the Salcef Group Sustainability Report”, comments Valeriano Salciccia, Salcef Group CEO. “It is an important document that summarizes our strategic priorities for sustainability: from improving working conditions for our employees and associates, to investing in production systems and technologies with less environmental impact, and implementing management systems inspired by internationally recognized principles of an open and transparent corporate culture “.
The main results of direct environmental and social impact include:
62% reduction in water use
97% of waste recovered
a workforce of 1,258 as of 31 December 2020, 17% of which are under the age of 30
