New FAST System presentation

The Salcef Group presents the new ballastless FAST System at the IAF 2022 exhibition.
The Salcef Group officially presented a new slab track system called FAST System at IAF 2022, the international track technology trade fair that took place in Münster, Germany and ended on 2nd June, to sector experts and professionals.
FAST, produced by the subsidiary Overail, is an innovative, reliable, flexible and extremely modular solution that responds to all needs related to the construction and renewal of railway and metro lines on ballastless systems.
The FAST system is based on a prefabricated concrete element which integrates all the fastening systems, ensuring excellent performance and thanks to several patented solutions, overcoming some of the limitations typical of ballastless track. In particular, it is easy to install requiring only temporary or partial track possession without interrupting train transit. This was made possible by the systemic integration of all the skills and technologies in the Group’s Business Units, from design and production to the engineering of machines and laying techniques.
The FAST System will be manufactured in the Aprilia plant, which represents excellence both in terms of industry and environmental sustainability. The system also ensures a high level of reduction in rail traffic noise and vibration, helping improve conditions for communities living close to the infrastructure.
Gilberto Salciccia, Chairman of Salcef Group, commented:
“The FAST system presented today is a unique product on the market and perfectly embodies the distinctive features of the Salcef Group: passion, expertise, experience, and a strong drive for innovation. FAST is the result of 2 years of development and the work of many colleagues to whom I’m grateful. It is a high-tech product proudly designed and manufactured entirely in Italy and within the Group. From the very first encounters with sector experts the feedback has been extremely positive. We are confident it will be appreciated by our customers, help the development of increasingly reliable, safe and comfortable railway infrastructures, benefit operators and end users, and represent an interesting growth opportunity for the railway materials business”.
