New maintenance contracts in Europe
New maintenance contracts in Europe

The Salcef Group increases its order portfolio by € 102 million and strengthens its position in the railway infrastructure maintenance sector in Italy and Germany.
The contracts were awarded to subsidiaries Salcef S.p.A. and Salcef Bau to enhance existing infrastructures and improve the efficiency and sustainability of passenger and freight transport.
These projects were launched in a particularly favourable climate for the railway industry, as the European Commission aims to increase sustainable mobility, doubling the high-speed rail network to create a transport infrastructure that will reduce emissions by 90% by 2050.
In Germany, Salcef Bau’s new orders are works to be carried out mainly on behalf of DB Netz, Germany’s leading railway infrastructure manager. This backlog ensures high operational visibility for the company, which already recorded a significant production increase in 2020 compared to the previous year.
In Italy, the contracts are multi-year framework agreements for design and extraordinary track maintenance, and for tunnel works. All the work is aimed at ensuring rail traffic safety and upgrading existing and operational infrastructures.
The new contracts are part of the activities of the Salcef Group’s main Track and Light Civil Works Operating Business Unit. These orders give Salcef the opportunity to increase its operational capacity in this sector and to enhance construction sites with new specific machinery and personnel.
