Mobility in Rome for the 2025 Jubilee

The Salcef Group wins the ANAS tender bid to improve mobility in Rome for the 2025 Jubilee by burying the road network in Piazza Pia.
Salcef S.p.A. has won the tender bid called by ANAS, the Italian State Railway Group, for a key project aimed at improving mobility in Rome ahead of the 2025 Jubilee. The work involves burying the road network in Piazza Pia by extending the existing subway originally built for the 2000 Jubilee by around 130 metres. This will allow a continuous pedestrian path to be created from Castel S. Angelo to via della Conciliazione, helping to significantly improve accessibility in an area currently congested with traffic.
Work is already underway and is expected to be completed by 7th December 2024, with a contract value of around €35 million. Gilberto Salciccia, President of the Salcef Group, shared his enthusiasm, stating: “Taking part in such a high-impact project for one of the most iconic areas of Rome and for the pilgrims who will visit the city during the 2025 Jubilee is a great honour. As always, we will offer the client the very best of our skills and experience in complex projects. This contract confirms the Salcef Group’s key role in the development of urban mobility in Rome, as seen in other important projects like the construction of Metro C and the maintenance of Metro A and B and tram lines.”
The Salcef Group is a key partner in improving mobility in Rome ahead of the 2025 Jubilee. Its commitment to facilitating access to key religious sites shows a significant contribution to the success of this international event.
