Riyadh Orange Line opens

A milestone in one of the world’s largest urban mobility projects.
On 5th January 2025, the Orange Line (Line 3) of the Riyadh Metro officially opened to the public, marking a significant milestone in transforming the transport system of Saudi Arabia’s capital. Spanning 41 km, it is the longest and most technologically advanced line in the Riyadh Metro network, a globally significant project for sustainable urban mobility.
The Salcef Group played a central role in the development of this infrastructure, contributing with the executive design and construction of 82.2 km of track on the main line and 9.2 km in the depots. The line runs through various types of alignment: 25.4 km on viaducts, 8.6 km underground, and 7.1 km at-grade.
The Riyadh Metro network, comprising six lines that cover a total of 176 km, is one of the largest urban mobility infrastructure projects in the world. Line 3 connects the western part of the city, from Jeddah Road, to the eastern area near the Second Eastern Ring Road, passing through residential, commercial, and cultural districts.
