Extending track life

Our Group offers an efficient rail and turnout grinding service, essential for maximizing the average lifespan of infrastructure. This removes imperfections and defects that can cause the track surface to crack and lead to rail breakage over time.

Grinding also reduces noise and vibration, decreasing the likelihood of damage to train wheels and offering greater passenger comfort.

Preventive grinding
This is mainly performed on new tracks, to remove any patina from oxidization and render the rolling surface homogeneous, in order to slow down any mechanical wear.

Corrective grinding
This maintenance activity is essential to prevent defects through operation (corrugation of the rolling surface, small cracks, head checks and flattening of the curved profile), to restore the original shape and proper friction of the rails.
